Screen flickering on a portable display can have several causes. Most are easy to fix.
Common causes
- Loose or low-quality USB-C cable
- Incompatible refresh rate setting
- Insufficient power from the host device
- Display driver issue
Fix 1: Replace the cable
Use the original Catsights USB-C cable. Third-party cables may not support the bandwidth required for 2560x1600 at 60Hz.
Fix 2: Check refresh rate
Set the display to 60Hz in your system display settings. Avoid variable refresh rate modes.
Fix 3: Connect to external power
If your laptop battery is low, the USB-C port may not deliver enough power. Connect your laptop to its charger, or use the Catsights hub for pass-through charging.
